What work do I specialise in?
Hi, my name is Helen Sargent. I am a Genetic Genealogist and you can find me here on www.dnadetective.co.uk which will take you to my home page.
I specialise in:
Identifying very close genetic relatives, even though they haven’t taken a DNA test themselves using genetic genealogy and modern research tools.
Identifying birth parents, even if no names are known and no certificates can be found using genetic genealogy and modern research tools.
Finding birth siblings and other biological relatives including grandparents using DNA match analysis and genealogy (which is genetic genealogy), and other modern research tools.
Acting as an intermediary to contact genetic relatives, after searching for them using modern tools, if necessary. This includes finding potential relatives via non DNA research routes. I always act with care, empathy and sensitivity during any form of contact with people I have located. (Intermediary work is not an obligation. You can do the contact work yourself if you choose.)
Helping uncover family medical history through biological relatives, without you requiring direct contact, if that is requested.
Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. No question is to silly. I look forward to hearing from you.
