“My Story. I was adopted at 8 months old and placed with a loving family. Years passed, then the law was changed in Ireland and adoptees were entitled to their birth info. So I went to get my details, to be told I was abandoned at birth. (No birth mother or father on my records.) I could not believe  it.

Helen Sargent’s name was given to me (Genetic Genealogist). I made contact with her. I told her my story. Helen explained in detail the search she would do. Kept me informed throughout the process.  

Then there was a breakthrough. Helen found the connection to my birth mother. I had a name. Unbelievable feeling to know who I am and where I came from.

A search was then put into action for my birth father. Nothing has been confirmed yet but it’s looking positive we might be close to a name.
